This is the universal flag for a hurricane warning. These flags were used to warn approaching ships of hurricane winds. 1 Flag meant gale force or storm winds between 55 - 73 MPH winds. If 2 flags were posted, then it meant a hurricane warning with winds over 74 MPH. This flag pattern is the trim around the bottom of the Carolina Hurricanes sweater as well.
Last night in Boston, the Hurricanes beat the heavily favoured Boston Bruins in overtime. With just over a minute left in the first OT period, Scott Walker posted the final blow for the Bruins season, & my hockey pools loser calcutta. With that goal my hopes of winning the calcutta & pocketing $350 died.
Thanks Scott Walker...thank. Oh yeah, my uncle in Raleigh who is growing a play-off beard thanks you as well. It is criminal that he still gets to enjoy hockey in 20 degree + weather.
